9 Dots’ Computer Science (CS) curriculum helps children develop vital critical thinking and problem-solving skills that will set them up for long-term success. We believe every child — regardless of socioeconomic status, gender, or the color of their skin — should have access to a robust and transformative CS education.
9 Dots partners with Title I elementary schools to build and deliver a comprehensive CS program that introduces K-6 graders to coding in a fun and empowering environment. We create the curriculum, train the teachers, and provide ongoing support and insights to ensure students are getting the high-quality CS education they deserve.
We started small in 2014, focusing on a few schools in Los Angeles and Compton, gradually adding partner schools each year. During the 2023- 2024 school year, we’ll serve 365 teachers and 9,300 students across LA County.
Our vision: An empowered and diverse new generation of coders from every walk of life, set for success and eager to help our world address its most important issues.
