Context

You’ve made it to the midway point! Teaching coding independently is no small feat, and we want to support you to continue teaching through the end of the school year. How is it going? Are you near your 25 lessons goal? This workshop is designed to help you plan ahead, practice delivery by looking forward to the curriculum you’ll be teaching in the second semester, and reflect on your students’ learnings in the first semester.

Here are some resources to help you teach independently:

The Challenge

Take some time to plan, practice, and reflect on teaching coding or the 9 Dots curriculum by completing this Graphic Organizer. You will need to make a copy and save it to your Google Drive.

There are three options in this workshop, choose one or two to focus on:

  • Self Check-In | Answer a series of questions to assess your progress from last semester.

  • Project Module Preperation | Review lesson materials for students’ End of Year projects.

  • Planning Ahead | Use the platform and a calendar to plan your lessons for the year.

Close Out: When we come back together as a group, be prepared to share how you'll implement what you've learned during this workshop during your next coding lesson!
