Context

There are so many resources available to you through 9 Dots, but sometimes just reading a lesson plan doesn't feel like enough to be ready to lead a lesson. No worries - we've got your back! Our Teacher Modules will take you through everything you need to know going into a 9 Dots lesson. On completion of Teacher Modules, you will receive either a certificate or email badge from 9 Dots.

The Challenge

Head to the 9 Dots Platform. On the left you will see the Teacher Modules, labeled with a rocket ship.

 
 

The Teacher Modules are split into two categories:

  • Concept Modules - These take you through all of the coding concepts that students learn from Kindergarten through 6th grade. These lessons will get you comfortable with coding concepts and skills for all grades.
  • Preparation Modules - These take you specifically through the concepts and themes in your students' lessons. These grade-specific modules will prepare you to lead and learn alongside your students in their upcoming Get Coding lessons.

After you have some time to work through a Teacher Concept or Preparation Module, reflect and set a goal for the upcoming months. What coding concepts do you want to continue practicing? What do you want to accomplish in the coding classroom in the next three months? Five months? Year? Jot down your goals on a piece of paper, or type it in a Google doc.

Close Out: When we come back together as a group, be prepared to share how you'll implement what you've learned during this workshop during your next coding lesson!
