Context

Co-teaching can take many forms, especially during distance teaching. Full and Partial Support teachers often ask us: what does co-teaching actually look like in the 9 Dots classroom? And when should I jump into the lesson if my Coding Coordinator is teaching?

To help answer those questions, we’ve prepared some clips of great co-teachers in action for you to get an idea of what being a Full Support or Partial Support teacher can look like as you prepare to teach independently. All of these teachers are current 9 Dots Full or Partial Support teachers. Note that engagement during Covid-19 looks different than in-person teaching, albeit with the same basic components.

The Challenge

  1. Watch the clips that we’ve provided for you. As you watch these co-teachers, note how they share the teaching responsibility together to make a great classroom experience for their students in a graphic organizer.
  1. Then, sign in to the 9 Dots Platform, and find the next lesson you’ll be teaching with your students. (You can also email your coding coordinator if you’re unsure which lesson is next.) Purposefully plan out how you’ll co-teach with your coding coordinator on page two of the graphic organizer. Be prepared to share out your next steps!

Still hesitant to co-teach with us? That’s okay! Use this time to learn more about the coding concepts for your grade level by accessing the Teacher Modules on the 9 Dots Platform.
