Welcome to Semester II PD!

Thank you for joining us for our Semester II PD! We want to give you the tools you need to be successful in teaching coding.


Directions

Level 1 and Level 2 Teachers:

  • Select your workshop from the grade-level workshop section.

Level 3 Independent Teachers:

  • Select the Teaching Independently workshop. 

In each workshop, you'll find valuable resources and information. We'll then lead you through the process of crafting your own Action Plan, outlining goals for Semester II. Please come prepared to share your insights and learnings with the group at the end of the professional development session.


I. Grade Level Workshops

Level 1 and Level 2 teachers please select the workshop for your grade below.

Objectives: Level 1 and Level 2 teachers will explore key coding concepts in your grade level and engage in dedicated planning to prepare for your next set of coding lessons.


II. Teaching Independently

This workshop is recommended only for Level 3 teachers who teach 9 Dots lessons independently.

Celebrate your growth as a teacher and plan for the rest of the school year at this workshop. You'll also have the chance to prepare your lessons for the coming months. Take this opportunity to set yourself up for success and continue inspiring your students.

Objectives:

  • Level 3 teachers, also known as independent teachers, will use data to reflect on their first semester’s coding instruction and commit to semester two goals.

III. Introduction to PixelBots

This workshop is recommended only for teachers who have never coded or participated in 9 Dots programming before.

Never coded or heard of PixelBots before? Not a problem! Start here to get an introduction to what 9 Dots is all about.

Objective:

  • Teachers new to coding will familiarize themselves with PixelBots by trying out coding challenges.
