Javascript Text-Based Coding Practice
Context
Our Module F and G curriculums are based on the programming language Javascript. We know text based coding can be difficult so we designed a guide to cover some of the basics. In this guide you’ll see a visual breakdown of each coding concept taught in Level F and G, followed by an example on video.
Take a moment to explore this guide and familiarize yourself with the concepts you find challenging.
Note: pickUp, putDown, and ifColor are only covered in 6th grade Module G
The Challenge
Once you are done reviewing you may head to the 9 Dots Platform, and click the preview button on your next lesson. Try and complete all of the challenges. If you get stuck, use our guide to get back on track, or ask us for help. If you finish the challenges early, preview the next lesson after that and try solving those challenges.
After you have some time to practice, reflect and set a goal for the upcoming months. What coding concepts do you want to continue practicing? What do you want to accomplish in the coding classroom in the next three months? Five months? Year? Jot down your goals on a piece of paper, or type it in a Google doc. Be ready to share with your peers.
